Cervical Cytology

The Project Surgery recommends that all women take advantage of the cervical smear test in line with national recommendations:
  • First invitation at the age of 25 years
  • Every three years until you reach the age of 49
  • Every five years thereafter until the age of 65
  • At other times as recommended by the Doctor

You will receive a reminder when your smear test is due once you have had your first smear.
The above recommendations are for "routine" smears only. If you are experiencing any problems and feel you require a test earlier please speak to your GP.
